For over 50 years, the Irish coastal town of Wexford has showcased this festival of rare opera, which boasts a reputation as international as its audience. The narrow, ancient Viking streets, and new state-of-the-art Opera House on the site of the old Theatre Royal, set the scene for over 30 daytime events as well the main opera performances every night. A fringe festival with a huge programme of additional events also takes place, ensuring that Wexford is a hive of activity for the 15 day festival.
