ITI operates from 17 Eustace Street, from where the programme of artist support activity is rolled out. The physical infrastructure provides necessary work space for artists to write, rehearse, conduct production meetings and present readings.
ITI delivers a strong suite of artist support and mentoring services to enhance the cultural entrepreneurship of the independent artist/company in response to the needs of the sector.
- User Services/Information Clinics
Irish Theatre Institute offers one-to-one information clinics for theatre practitioners (individuals and organisations) which are held weekly on Wednesday at our premises at 17 Eustace Street and must be booked in advance. You, the artist or company set the agenda and ITI will respond. Info Clinics are offered on a broad range of subjects but some typical topics include:

Please note clinics are held on Wednesday between 2.30-5pm. Slots get booked very quickly in the run up to application deadlines and festivals so book in advance!
Self-Producing Artist Training (SPAT)
ITI offers producer training for the independent artist with an emphasis on maximising funding and production opportunities for the self-producing artist.
Intensive Producer Training:
Intensive two day training workshops focussing on strategic planning; budgets and finance; contracts and marketing.
Writing of Funding Application Training:
One day workshops scheduled in advance of application deadlines (Autumn/Spring). These training workshops will focus on project definition and description; budgeting and scheduling; projected pay scales and touring.
ELEVATOR
ELEVATOR is a 12 month Resource Sharing and mentoring initiative in association with Town Hall Theatre Galway. This new East/West partnership, funded by the Arts Council, will provide mentoring, strategic planning, training and networking opportunities for six emerging and mid-career Producers.
Six in The Attic (SITA)
Six in the Attic provides theatre artists with the space, time and practical resources alongside the mentoring and advice services needed to explore, develop and make work.
Six in the Attic (SITA) ALUMNI
Following completion of participation in programmes such as Six in the Attic, ITI offers ongoing mentorship and support of these artists. Alumni programmes enable the individual artists/companies in their ongoing professional development through enhancing their existing support systems.
PRIME: Continuing Professional Development
PRIME is a new initiative introduced in 2015, from Irish Theatre Institute in association with Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival, which is designed to provide career supports and training opportunities for theatre practitioners aged 55 to 80 years.
