ABOUT THE SHAKESPEARE SESSIONS AT MUCKROSS HOUSE, KILLARNEY, CO. KERRY

Cyclone Rep, Ireland's busiest Theatre-in-Education Company, is delighted to come close to you this year to perform our popular Shakespeare Sessions. Our mission is to provide audiences with an exciting and multifaceted theatrical experience. Shakespeare Sessions are both entertaining and educational, combining performance and workshop. The Shakespeare Sessions comprise of individual curriculum-based plays of Shakespeare's texts. They include a review of the relevant topics and themes along with discussions and opportunities for students to participate.

This year Cyclone Rep is performing four different sessions. For Senior Cycle students: "The King Lear Session" and "The Macbeth Session". For Junior Cycle students: "The Romeo & Juliet Session" and "The Merchant Session".

Each show is 2 hours in length with no interval. The Shakespeare Sessions are abridged versions of the plays with the main scenes performed true to text and a workshop woven throughout the performance. The aim of our shows is to engage, entertain and educate by breaking down the 4th wall and communicating directly with our audience members, using lots of humour and audience interaction while also discussing the the main themes, characters and plot line in each of the plays.

Ticket Price: 15 (Teachers go free)
